If you don't do that you will overwrite the Pro version with the Free version while updating.

  Info

This section applies only to the Pro version of the extension. The free version can be updated without authentication.

The extension must be authenticated before you can update it. To authenticate and update Minitek Slider:

  2. Install the plugin in your website via Extension Manager.

  3. Open the plugin, publish it and paste your Download ID into the Download ID parameter. Click on "Save & Close".

(You can find your Download ID here)

  4. That's it! The extension will now notify you whenever there is a new version released. Please note that you will be able to receive updates only for the duration of your subscription at Minitek.gr.

In Minitek Slider you create widgets. You can then link those widgets to menu items (of type Minitek Slider) or to modules (via the Minitek Slider module).

Show price: Select whether to show the item price. Works only with Virtuemart products.

Effects

Fade effect: Fades between transitioning slides instead of moving. If enabled, will display only one item per slide, bypassing grouping of items.

Drag & Scroll: Enables scroll by dragging the slider.

Drag threshold: The number of pixels a mouse or touch has to move before dragging begins. Increase to allow for more wiggle room for vertical page scrolling on touch devices.

Selected attraction: Attracts the position of the slider to the selected cell. Higher attraction makes the slider move faster.

Friction: Slows the movement of the slider. Higher friction makes the slider feel stickier and less bouncy. Lower friction makes the slider feel loose and more wobbly.

Free Scroll: Free scroll allows you to scroll freely without transitioning between items.

Free Scroll friction: Slows the movement of the slider when free scroll is enabled.

Rewind to start: At the end of items, wrap-around to the other end for infinite scrolling. Has no effect if more items are loaded in the slider dynamically.

Contain: Contains items within the slider to prevent gaps at beginning or end. Has no effect if "Rewind to start" is enabled.

Group items: Groups items together in slides. Flicking, page bullets and previous/next arrows are mapped to group slides, not individual items.

Autoplay: Automatically advances to the next item.

Autoplay speed: Advances items ever x milliseconds.

Adaptive height: Changes height of slider to fit height of selected slide.

  Info

There are two ways to display a Slider:

  1. You can attach a widget to a menu item
  2. You can attach a widget to a module

Follow the steps below to create a menu item for a Slider:

  1. Go to your menu in Menu Manager and click on "New".

  2. In the field Menu Item Type click on "Select". Then click on "Minitek Slider" and select "Slider".

Minitek Slider - create a menu item
  3. In the field Select slider widget select the appropriate widget.

  4. Click on "Save & Close".

  Important:

Before publishing a Minitek Slider menu item, make sure that you have properly configured the Load jQuery parameter in the component Global configuration. Under the tab Basic Settings enable the field Load jQuery only if you have not already loaded the jQuery Library on the page or if you experience a javascript conflict in the Minitek Slider. ATTENTION: Multiple instances of jQuery on the same page may result to javascript conflicts.

Now that you have configured at least one widget you can show a Slider in a module position or inside an article.

Follow the steps below to configure and publish a Minitek Slider module:

  1. Go to Joomla administrator panel > Components > Minitek Slider > Widgets and open the widget of your choice.
  2. Click on "Publish in module" at the top right of the toolbar. A modal window will open.
Minitek Slider - create a module
  3. You now have two options: Publish the module in a module position of your choice or publish the module inside an article with the Load position plugin.
Minitek Slider - create a module
  4. If you want to publish the module to a standard module position of the template click on the first "Create module" button. You will be redirected to the Module Manager. Open the module, select the position of your choice, set the Status to "Published", assign the module to the menu items of your choice and select a widget in the field Widget. Finally click on "Save & Close".
  5. If you want to publish the module inside an article you must enable the plugin Content - Load Modules in the Plugin Manager. Then return to the widget, click on "Publish in module" at the top right of the toolbar and copy the syntax {loadposition minitekslider-x} to your notepad. Be careful to use the exact syntax as you see it in the modal window. Then click on the second "Create module" button. You will be redirected to the Module Manager. Open the module, enter the position minitekslider-x from the previous syntax, set the Status to "Published", assign the module to the menu items of your choice and select a widget in the field Widget. Click on "Save & Close". Finally open the article of your choice in the Article Manager and paste the previous syntax {loadposition minitekslider-x} to the article content area.

Load jQuery: Loads the Joomla jQuery JavaScript framework.

Load Font Awesome: Loads the Font Awesome icon library.

Load PHP Thumb Library: PHP library required for image cropping.

Image crop quality (%): Enter a value between 0 - 100.

Enable version checking: Checks for latest version. Disable this parameter if you experience problems with the back-end interface (slow loading times, unresponsive page etc).
