Before I buy, I want the product to work.

Hello
Since I am currently completely redesigning all websites from Joomla 3.x to Joomla 4, I found the FAQ from you.

Unfortunately, I cannot post my question in the forum because only paying customers are accepted there. However, I am not buying anything that doesn't work.

Unfortunately you can't set up a topic yet ... comes a 404 error. Section works.
Currently, of course, every supplier of Joomla 4 components makes the race where functional components / modules are available. ;-)

Actually, I would be interested in the FAQ Book.
But if you make it so difficult to clarify beforehand, I will have to look further.

Best Regards

Hi Reto,

Currently, Joomla 4 is a mess. Every update breaks something. We are trying to keep up with the issues but new problems arise after each Joomla update.

Our components are not yet stable for Joomla 4. Stable versions will be released within September as soon as Joomla 4 matures a little bit more and bugs have been fixed.

PS. Joomla 4 should never have been released so soon. It is not stable yet and the Joomla developers rushed the release. Joomla 4 is still Beta in my opinion.

About the 404 error with Topics that you mention above, where exactly do you get this error? Front-end or back-end?

Hi

Thanks for the really quick answer.
I know that Joomla 4 is virgin. But since the Stabled Version has finally arrived after so many years, we would like to be part of the first to convert them.

I am also happy to do tests for you.

eul.inaktiv.ch has included the FAQ from you ... and there you can also understand the error.
Of course I'm always up to date with the latest update from Joomla 4 (4.02)

I don't have the feeling that Joomla 4.02 is so unstable (actually no problems with it yet).
I have been testing since the 1st alpha version. And my 1st official project is going very well and fast ... except for the FAQ (LOL) and the menu module in the footer.

The Error is in the Frontend.

Click on the only post and take a look at the URL ... I have the feeling that something is wrong.

That's true if you have a clean installation without 3rd party extensions and templates.

But try to upgrade a Joomla 3 website with 10's of extensions and a 3rd party template framework. Nightmare.

Have you created menu items for each section in the front-end?

That's why I never upgrade to new versions. Always new installations. Everything else is tinkering.

I found out where the component has a problem with Joomla 4.
As soon as I turn on SEO, I can no longer call up the individual topic. ERROR

You have to create a menu item of type FAQ Book > Section for each one of your sections.

Hello

I do not think so. If I turn off SEO it works.

At the top right I have a menu item FAQ.
When I click on it, I get the selection below. Now I click on 'What are the DNS servers (1)'. Then comes 404 page not found.
Without SEO, the right content will be displayed.

So there is definitely a programming bug in the component.

I also have other components on this website. No one else has problems with SEO.

If the bug is corrected, I'm really interested in the PRO version. So far I like the component.

As I said above, you have to create a menu item of type FAQ Book > Section for each one of your sections. If not, the SEO links will not work.

The subject is settled.
I have now taken another paid product that works (NoBossFAQ).

There were initial difficulties there too. But the support was able to solve everything with a lot of patience.

With Joomla 4, the manufacturer who takes care of solutions wins the race. ;-)
