It looks like when we select a category to filter by using Easyblog as a source WallPro only pays attention to the MAIN category?

On our site we are going to have a list of recipes and some fall into more than one category, so we assign a main category then some additional ones in Easyblog, however in the widgets the recipes only show up for their "main" category.

Would it be possible for WallPro to pull any posts from a certain category regardless of whether that category is the main one or not?

(please note the site will launch imminently so you will need to remove the /dev/ part from the URLs after around 5pm today GMT)

Hi there,

No, the filters work for multiple categories too, not only for main categories.

Just to be clear, the issue isn't with the user-filters on the frontend but instead with the "source" selection.

So we have a post which has a main Easyblog category of "Main dishes" and an additional category of "Kid Friendly". I have two widgets, one whose source is set to Main Dishes and the other is set to Kid Friendly. The post only appears in the "main dishes" widget and not in the Kid Friendly one. If I change the post's main category to Kid Friendly, however, it does turn up.

So unless I'm missing something it looks to be that it's only "main category" selections which are pulled if you set an Easyblog category as the source?

Yes that is true.

Selected categories in the data source only apply to the "main" categories.

Yes, so my question is/was whether it would be possible for you to allow us to pull content from Easyblog based on an item's category regardless of whether it's a main or supplemental category?

At the moment we can easily use additional categories in Easyblog to ensure posts appear in more than one category (without needing to add duplicates) however once we start using WallPro we lose this feature (if not using the filtering).

Please add this to the "Features Request" list.
There are many open requests for new features so I have to prioritize them:
