 Hello,

I am still running a Joomla 2.5 website which I am preparing to migrate to a Joomla 3. According to Joomla's instructions for a mini-migration, I need to make sure all extensions are up to date and compatible with Joomla 3.

Because of this reason, I installed the latest version of FAQBook on my Joomla 2.5 website (currently only on a clone, not the live site). However, after this update the back-end administration of FAQbook no longer loads and gives a 500 error. The FAQ page on the website itself still works properly though. Since it's not the live site, this is not a big problem, but I want to make sure if this could be an issue for the migration to Joomla 3.

What do I have to do to make sure that I can continue using FAQbook after migrating to Joomla 3?

Hi David,

FAQ Book Pro was completely re-written a few years back when Joomla 3 was released. Current version only works with Joomla 3.x, not with Joomla 2.5.

Unfortunately, there is no way to update from version 2.5.

You must uninstall the old version and install the new version when you update to Joomla 3.x.

Does that mean I have to put in all my FAQ entries again manually after upgrading to Joomla 3?
Or is there a way to export/import this data more automatically?

Yes, that's right. The new version (released in 2014) is completely different so you must recreate the data.

Did you try to login to the website I gave?
Because I am suddenly getting a 500 error and the entire website doesn't work anymore, which started about when you first responded here (could be coincidence, of course, but I just want to check to be sure). There's nothing I had done to that site that I hadn't also done to the live site, but the live site is still operational. So trying to figure out what happened.
