Creating a module

You can display a widget in a module position or inside an article.

Follow the steps below to configure and publish a Minitek Wall module:

  1. Go to Components > Minitek Wall > Widgets and open a widget.

  2. Click on Publish in module. A modal window will open.

Minitek Wall - create a module

  3. There are 2 options; you can publish the module in a module position or inside an article via the Load position plugin.

Minitek Wall - create a module

  4. If you want to publish the module to a standard module position of the template click on the first Create module button. You will be redirected to Site Modules. Open the module, select a position, set the Status to Published, assign the module to the menu items of your choice and select a widget in the field Widget. Finally click on Save & Close.

  5. If you want to publish the module inside an article you must enable the plugin Content - Load Modules. Then return to the widget, click on Publish in module at the top right of the toolbar and copy the syntax {loadposition minitekwall-x} to your notepad. Be careful to use the exact syntax as you see it in the modal window.

Then click on the second Create module button. You will be redirected to Site Modules. Open the module, enter the position minitekwall-x from the previous syntax, set the Status to Published, assign the module to the menu items of your choice and select a widget in the field Widget. Click on Save & Close. Finally, paste the previous syntax {loadposition minitekwall-x} to the article content area.

  Important

A wall module must be placed inside a container that is visible. If the container has the display property initially set to none, then the wall will not work as in this case the items dimensions can not be properly calculated.

  Warning

The extension does not create URLs for the items, it uses the existing URLs that are found in your website. Therefore, if the items URLs are not correct, this means that you have not configured your menu items properly.

You must create a menu item for each item category. For example, if the extension displays Joomla articles, you must create a menu item for each Joomla category.

Note that if you assign a Wall module to these category menu items, you will still see the module when opening an article page since you are still on the same menu item.
