Content Notifications not compatible with Joomla 5?

R
RPosted 1 year ago

I just bought this Content Notifications extension, but it throws an error when I open one of the Default email templates in the administrator site..

My website has Joomla version 5.0.1. I suspect an incompatibility with Joomla 5. Could this be true?

Two questions:

  1. When will Content Notifications work on Joomla 5?
  2. What can I do now to fix the error below and get CN working for me?

An error has occurred.

0 Joomla\Component\ContentNotifications\Administrator\Table\EmailtemplateTable::__construct(): Argument #1 ($db) must be of type JDatabaseDriver, Joomla\Database\Mysqli\MysqliDriver given, called in /home/xxxxxx/domains/xxxxxxxx/public_html/J4_sandbox_lksdj/libraries/src/MVC/Factory/MVCFactory.php on line 274

It is the argument #1 that goes wrong when selecting a default email template and also when selecting New in custom emails templates.

Hi there,

The version for Joomla 5 is ready but not available until tomorrow.

Is it ok for you to wait until tomorrow when I'll release the first version for J5?

O Yes,

It would be great if this works in the next day(s).

Thanks for the fast reply and the update action.

Best regards,

Your latest update 5.0.1 works!

I have made an extra automatic step to make notifications within a cronjob.
Because I use CN for a bulletinboard where users can post messages themselves, it is not feasible that I have to make notifications in de Joomla backend everytime.
So in a first cronjob I execute an SQL script that makes the necesary notifications (see uploaded image).

If you are interested to make this possible for al your users, I can upload the SQL code.

Thanks again for the quick help you gave.
