Minitek Live Search - Professional Subscription Minitek FAQ Book Pro - Professional Subscription

Hello,

I recently updated to Joomla 4 and I tried to install Live Search to accompany FAQBook Pro.

However, when I try to install the extension I get the following error:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'int unsigned NOT NULL DEFAULT 0, `checked_out_time` datetime, `params...' at line 8

I have tried this with different versions of Live Search for Joomla 4, but each time the same.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi there,

If you go to Extensions > Manage and search for Minitek Live Search, you will see that the older 3.x version is still installed.

You must first uninstall both extensions (component and module).

Then you can proceed to install v4.

Hello,

Thank you, I didn't know that I needed to uninstall the old version first. Now I installed the latest version of Live Search.

I tried to index, but I get this error:

Unknown column 'a.introtext' in 'field list'

I only want to index the content of FAQBook Pro.

What do I need to do to get rid of this error? When I enable the Live Search module on the pages of FAQBook I get a 500 error.

I found out the solution to the error, apparently I had not yet installed the new versions of the finder extensions of FAQBook Pro. So now the indexing works and all that.

But I found a new issue:

For some (not all) results of FAQBook Pro in Live Search, the Live Search link only works when logged in. Otherwise, it asks you to login first.

This is very strange, as everything is set to "Public", all questions, topics, sections, ... I tried re-indexing, clearing cache and all that, but it makes no difference.

How can I fix this please?

Please advise about the Live Search treating some of the FAQBook results as non-public even when they are, please. My website is supposed to go live soon so I'm running out of time.

Hi there,

This time of year I'm on vacation. I'm actually on the beach right now, so it's impossible for me to log in and investigate the issue.

Thanks for your response, I did not know you were on vacation. My apologies.

I was hoping it was just some setting I overlooked somewhere, but I guess the issue is deeper than that?

When would you be back from vacation so you can have a look at it?

Thanks!

Hello,

Can you please give me an example of a search that generates these results?

D

At this link:

https://www.druidcircle.org/nod/index.php/en/help

Try searching with the keywords: college login

The first result will be "I can't login to the College". When you click on that, you are asked to login first.

This is one example, there are some others, but not all of them.

The access for all topics is set to "Public", and when clicking on the same question in the FAQBook itself (without going to it through the Live Search) it will open without a problem.

Thanks.

Hi there,

This issue has nothing to do with Minitek Live Search. This is a problem with the access of your menu items.

For example, the menu item Druid College is set as Registered, therefore, all articles under that menu item will not be visible to users who have not logged in.

Hello,

Thanks for your response. This was apparently the cause indeed. Aside from the general FAQ menu item, I do have an additional FAQ menu item only for the Druid College FAQ, which was set to "Registered". When I set it to "Public", it works again.

I had no idea that the FAQBook categories access levels were dependent on menu items, I assumed that the FAQBook handled this all on its own regardless of menu items. But it's solved now!

Thanks!

You're welcome. I'm glad we figured it out.
