Problem with the filters : inconsistent results

Hi,

I have a problem with the images (lightbox). Let me explain :

The visitor loads a page with your component. For example, there are items from 3 categories (A, B and C). The visitor filters the categories to display only the A items.

When he clicks on an image, he expects to see only the images of A items (lightbox). It seems logical to me.

Unfortunately, the component displays all the images (categories A, B and C) !!

For this, I imagine that the page would have to be reloaded when the visitor filters the articles. But this doesn't seem possible with your component ...

Do you have a solution for me ?

Lightbox2 is a 3rd party library with very limited functionality. It does not support this kind of filtering operations. I could make a hack for it, but that would make the Wall slower and the code would become complicated and harder to maintain.

I can make the hack in your website if you send me FTP access, but unfortunately this is not something that I can add to the official release.

Hi Yannis,

Thank you for your proposal. But I don't want a hack and problems with the future maintenance of the website.

It would be ok for a "Free" version. But for a "Pro" component, I think you need to find a solution.

For example :

1. Option to reload the page after a filter (so that only the images of the reloaded page are displayed)

2. Solution with groups of images in the lightbox (related to tags or categories)

I think your component is very good. But this problem really limits its usefulness.

There will be some new features for the filters in the upcoming versions, so I'll try to combine them with an update for the lightbox images too.
