Frontend shortcode not editable

SM
Scott MarshPosted 7 years agoEdited 7 years ago
I have the following shortcode that is visible on backend but not frontend. The plugin does not make it available in the frontend even with no editor selected.

Obviously, I need this to work to allow front end content editing. Otherwise, the shortcode gets deleted each time we edit the page content on the frontend.

OK - this time it was the firewall. Looks like its good to go now. Thanks!

Yes, of course I did. Everything works fine on my end. Make sure that the editor you are using does not strip special tags when saving.

When I save the shortcode page, all content is deleted and a few nonsense characters remain.

Did you try to save the shortcode page when you worked with it two weeks ago?

Thank you - did not realize I had to manually download it.

After update of the plugin, the shortcode shows in the edit page now but still does not save. The problems is not yet solved.

Please confirm.

I checked in the article. (FYI - your account is super user)

I installed MCN on two other websites with the same results.

No editor, no shortcode when editing in front end.

Can you frontend edit shortcode on your site??

You must check-in the article in the back-end so that I can edit in the front-end.

No, there is no way for me to edit the page in the front-end. There is no edit button for my user.

Hi Yannis. The problem is still there even without an editor. I've also uninstalled my firewall.

Do you know that this is not a problem? Can you edit on the front end from you site?

Hi there,

This problem has nothing to do with the extension.
This is a problem with your editor. Your editor is deleting the shortcode from the article text.

I can't help you with that.

You must either ask for support from the developer of the editor or configure your editor to work properly and not arbitrarily delete stuff from your articles.

When might you look at this?

Try login now - it was not activated - sorry about that.

1) Use the provided URL or login from front end of www.virusys.com
2) In Latest Additions module on right margin, select the article "tester"
3) You'll see the MCN follow button at the bottom of the page.
4) Try to edit the page and see what the shortcode looks like.
5) Shortcode is not there.
6) Do the same thing from the backend and the shortcode is visible on the edit page.

I have other people editing these pages on the frontend. When they modify the content and save, the follow button dissappears because the shortcode is now gone.
