Javascript error in Joomla 5.0.2 when dropdown results are supposed to display

Minitek Live Search - Professional Subscription

Joomla version 5.0.2

Minitek Live Search Extension version 5.0.1

We've just purchased, installed, and configured your live search extension. I have it fully configured and I have the module published.

When I begin typing in a search term/phrase the spinner appears and javascript errors appear. Search results never display. No other javascript errors show in the console.

I think the Minitek live search module is conflicting with Hikashop. We're using the latest version of Hikashop - HikaShop Business: 5.0.3

I was able to successfully log in in the checkout page. Did you disable the search module in that page?

Making progress. We were only getting back parent product codes, not variant codes.

We are still having a javascript issue ... when the minitek live search module is published and I try to login at Hikashop checkout there's a JS error that prevents login.

I was able to search for Hikashop products (for example searching for "Beverage") but have not been able to search by product codes (no results).

Now, about the product codes, this depends on the smart search plugin. Minitek Live Search is built on top of the default Joomla Smart Search plugin. If you create a menu item of type Smart Search (core Joomla not Minitek), are you able to search products by product codes?

Hi - How did your testing go yesterday? Is the issue with the Minitek live search or is the issue with the Hikashop products smart search plugin? The Hikashop product smart search plugin has a field available to choose the product fields that should be searched, which I've configured to include product_code.

Does the Minitek live search take into account the fields configured in the Hikashop product smart search plugin?

I see. I'll test it tomorrow and if I can't make it work I'll give you a full refund.

Well, that didn't work. I guess our plugin isn't compatible with the minitek module. I've unpublished it and republished Hikashop's product smart search module. Still no product_code results.

I've installed a custom hikashop search plugin we've developed that adds variant search and I'll see if that makes any difference.

Here are some product code examples:

PTDM-30-SB

LS030T45
/shop-by-product/product/lock-stop-drain-lock/

UTDS-36
/shop-by-product/stainless-steel-drain-strainers/product/u-shaped-trench-drain-scrap-basket

SD-60

Ok, I've swapped that template setting to webfont/css icons. That fixed the javascript error! Thank you. I was just testing the search, and although we have the Hikashop Smart search plugin configured to search within the product code, I'm not getting any results in the drop down for with a product code search term. This is why we swapped from EB Ajax Search to Minitek. The client desperately needs product code search. I'm attaching a screenshot of the hikashop finder plugin settings.

Thanks.

So, the problem is caused by the search icon in the search field. There is some script in your template that replaces fontawesome icons with svg icons. I can send you a patch (a new version of the main js file) to see if that solves the issue.

Ok, I've removed the eb ajax search from this page - /resources-and-more/faq-s

I will, but I only re-published the ajaxsearch after minitek didn't work so I don't think the other search is the issue.

Hi there,

It seems like there is a conflict between the 2 search modules. Can you please put the Minitek Live Search module on a separate page without the mod-ajaxsearch module?

How do I get support? I purchased this extension 3 days ago and it's is not working. My support request has gone unanswered. If I cannot receive support I need a refund.
