Template overrides

To create a template override for a widget:

  1. Create a directory com_minitekslider inside the html directory of your website template.
  2. Create a directory slider inside the com_minitekslider directory.
  3. Copy the files
    default.php
    default_article_slider_1.php
    default_article_slider_2.php
    default_article_slider_3.php
    default_article_slider_4.php
    default_article_slider_5.php
    default_image_slider.php
    default_media_slider.php

    from

    PATH_TO_JOOMLA/components/com_minitekslider/tmpl/slider/

    to

    PATH_TO_JOOMLA/templates/TEMPLATE_NAME/html/com_minitekslider/slider/
  4. Rename the new files, using the same base name; for example
    override.php
    override_article_slider_1.php
    override_article_slider_2.php
    override_article_slider_3.php
    override_article_slider_4.php
    override_article_slider_5.php
    override_image_slider.php
    override_media_slider.php
  5. In the field Layout > Template, select the new template override (override).
  6. Make your changes inside the appropriate file depending on the selected slider theme.

  Important

Updates may introduce new features that break template overrides from older versions. In this case, you must copy the new template files to your template override. Always check the changelog of the extension when updating.
